When global leaders gathered at the United Nations Future Summit to discuss how to address major challenges to human civilization including the climate crisis, China recently released the National Action Plan for Climate Change Health Adaptation (2024-2030), which the World Health Organization China Office highly appreciates. This action plan was jointly formulated by the National Administration of Disease Control and Prevention in conjunction with 12 relevant departments, and puts forward goals such as significantly enhancing the health adaptation capacity to climate change and the climate resilience of the health and public health system by 2030, and basically building a society-wide friendly environment for climate change health adaptation. Martin Taylor, WHO Representative in China, stated: "The National Action Plan for Climate Change Health Adaptation provides a platform for cross-sectoral cooperation among health, environment, meteorology and other departments to jointly address climate change and improve public health conditions. Cross-sectoral cooperation will also ensure that the health sector can maximize synergies and promote shared health benefits in fields related to health determinants such as energy, agriculture, housing and water resources."
