To further improve the cooperation mechanism for joint prevention and control and the information exchange and sharing mechanism for major tropical infectious diseases in the border areas between Yunnan and the Wa State of Myanmar, and to effectively curb the cross-border transmission of tropical infectious diseases, the Yunnan Institute of Parasitic Diseases Prevention and Control held a "Coordination Meeting and Information Exchange Seminar on Joint Prevention and Control of Major Tropical Infectious Diseases in China-Myanmar Border Areas" in Menglian, Puer on October 25. At the meeting, institutions including the Yunnan Institute of Parasitic Diseases Prevention and Control, the Health Bureau of the Wa State of Myanmar, the Bangkang Special Region, the Mengbo County, the Mengneng County, the Mengmao County, the Fubang County Health Bureaus, the Menglian County CDC and Peoples Hospital, and HPA (Health Poverty Action) conducted in-depth exchanges on the bilateral epidemic situation and prevention and control work of infectious diseases in the China-Myanmar border areas. The Wa State expressed hope that both sides would further strengthen the construction of the disease joint prevention and control cooperation mechanism and the information exchange and sharing mechanism, and help the Wa State establish a routine disease surveillance network system, provide talent cultivation and technical and material support, and enhance the capacity and level of infectious disease prevention and control.
