From November 14 to 16, a 7-member research group led by Wang Zhuo, Deputy Director of the Jiangxi Provincial Disease Control Bureau, conducted an investigation on the joint prevention and control of schistosomiasis in Jiangsu Province. Gu Bangchao, Deputy Director of Jiangsu Provincial Disease Control Bureau, Cheng Minghua, Director of the Department of Immunization and Disease Control, and Yang Kun, Deputy Director of Jiangsu Provincial Schistosomiasis Prevention and Control Institute, accompanied the investigation. The research group conducted on-site inspections of the Central Health Center in Yangjiang Town, Gaochun District, the comprehensive treatment project for snail-breeding environments at Feizui Section, Gaoxuanwei, the comprehensive schistosomiasis prevention and control project of standardized breeding bases in Yongshengwei, Brick Wall Town, the water conservancy schistosomiasis prevention project at the Jiuqu River Hub in Danyang City, the comprehensive forestry schistosomiasis prevention and control project at Binjiang No.4 Beach, and the parasitic disease network laboratory of Danyang CDC, and listened to the report on the joint prevention and control of schistosomiasis in Jiangsu Province. The research group fully affirmed the achievements of schistosomiasis prevention and control in Jiangsu Province, pointing out the "pragmatism" of Jiangsus prevention and control strategy of "attaching equal importance to infection source control and snail control", the "high level" of information-based management for schistosomiasis prevention and control, the "excellent results" in skill competitions, and the "innovation" in the application of new technologies empowered by science and technology. In view of the work objectives and challenges faced by the provinces schistosomiasis prevention and control, it is recommended to continuously promote the work of meeting the standards for schistosomiasis elimination, continue to implement the "six synchronizations" work in accordance with the joint prevention and control mechanism of the "five lake provinces", continuously consolidate the prevention and control achievements, and prevent the resurgence of the epidemic.
