From December 12 to 14, the 2024 annual summary meeting on parasitic disease prevention and control work in Shandong Province was successfully held in Taian. A total of more than 70 people, including the deputy directors in charge of the centers for disease control of 16 cities across the province, section chiefs for parasitic disease prevention and control, and key business backbones, participated in the meeting, which was presided over by Researcher Yan Ge from Shandong Institute of Parasitic Diseases Prevention and Control. Song Qiaoxia, Party Secretary of Shandong Institute of Parasitic Diseases Prevention and Control, comprehensively summarized the provinces 2024 work including preventing the re-transmission of imported malaria, monitoring of key parasitic diseases, monitoring of anopheles mosquitoes (malaria vectors), and disposal of emerging parasitic diseases, and arranged the key tasks for 2025. The centers for disease control of 16 cities across the province respectively reported the development of the whole-year prevention, control and monitoring work for key parasitic diseases. The meeting invited experts from the National Institute of Parasitic Diseases, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention to explain in detail the data filling, review and precautions of the parasitic disease prevention and control information management system (special reporting system), and the participants analyzed and discussed the problems in the data filling of the special reporting system in the province.
