In order to sort out and summarize the progress of national key parasitic disease prevention and control work in 2024, and study and formulate the 2025 national key parasitic disease prevention and control work plan, the Department of Health Immunization of the National Administration of Disease Control and Prevention held the National Promotion Meeting on Key Parasitic Disease Prevention and Control Work in Beijing on January 20, 2025. Li Xiaocui, Deputy Director of the Department of Health Immunization of the National Administration of Disease Control and Prevention, Ji Yongcai, Director of the Division of Parasitic Disease Control, Wang Liping, Deputy Director of the Department of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control of Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Researcher Sun Junling, Researcher Zhou Sheng, Assistant Researcher Qiu Yan, Assistant Researcher Tu Hong, Li Shizhu, Director of the National Institute of Parasitic Diseases of Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Xu Xuenian, Deputy Director, Zheng Bin, Deputy Director, and the responsible persons of all CDC departments and the Global Health Center attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Director Ji Yongcai.

Director Li Shizhu first analyzed the national key parasitic disease epidemic situation in 2024, introduced the main work progress of the National Institute of Parasitic Diseases in promoting the control and elimination of national key parasitic diseases and global health governance in 2024, and put forward the 2025 work plan for key parasitic disease prevention and control and international cooperation. Subsequently, Researcher Sun Junling introduced the work carried out by the Department of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control of the Center in the field of parasitic disease prevention and control in 2024 and the key work plan for 2025. Finally, the participating experts conducted in-depth discussions on key work in 2025, including the prevention and control of schistosomiasis, malaria, echinococcosis, kala-azar, soil-borne and food-borne parasitic diseases, as well as global health and information construction.
