The second global WHO meeting on skin-related neglected tropical diseases has been convened in Geneva, aiming to accelerate the advancement of integrated prevention and control strategies for such diseases. This three-day meeting was dedicated to refining innovative strategies for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of these diseases. Dr. Ibrahima Socé Fall, Director of the WHO Global Neglected Tropical Diseases Programme, stated: "Integrated strategies are key to accelerating progress towards the goals of the 2030 Roadmap for Neglected Tropical Diseases. This meeting, through cross-disciplinary and cross-disease expert collaboration, fully validates the concept of integration and will drive innovative solutions to improve early detection, treatment and long-term care for patients." The meeting focused on exploring the potential application of digital technologies such as artificial intelligence in the fields of training, diagnosis and management, especially the implementation pathways to enhance the effectiveness of health services in resource-limited settings. The meeting provided a platform for collaboration among representatives from ministries of health, researchers, non-governmental organizations, funders, civil society and affected communities, aiming to coordinate actions and share best practices for scaling up the implementation of integrated strategies.
