From June 24 to 26, Yunnan Institute of Parasitic Diseases held the Seminar on Cooperation, Coordination and Information Exchange for Joint Prevention and Control of Major Tropical Infectious Diseases in the China-Laos Border Area in Jinghong. The participants included 20 Lao representatives from the Department of Infectious Disease Control of the Ministry of Health of Laos and other institutions, and 17 Chinese representatives from Yunnan Administration of Disease Control and Prevention and other institutions. At the meeting, the two sides notified each other of the epidemic information of important vector-borne infectious diseases such as dengue fever and malaria, and discussed and reached cooperation intentions on issues including the construction of Aedes mosquito monitoring system in Laos, the construction of joint tropical infectious disease laboratories, talent training and other related joint prevention and control cooperation matters. The holding of this seminar not only deepened the cooperation between the two sides in the field of infectious disease prevention and control, but also reached a consensus on jointly responding to the challenges of infectious diseases in border areas.
